Choosing your personal multi-shelf rod heights for Rhythm Multi-Shelf Platforms:

You have four choices of 'fixed rod heights' between shelves in order to accommodate and match up with any component chassis height. Most industry rack offerings tend to ignore this feature leaving you with a 2 inch high electronic component placed inside of a 12 inch high box resulting in a gaping hole of useless open space appearing like the rest of your system is still on layaway. Matching the best rod height to your component chassis provides you a more elegant 'custom type' cosmetic appearance. Should your choices of equipment change over time we will provide an exchanging of the three rod set for a modest fee. Star Sound personnel are always available to assist in making your decisions on rod heights.

Three of the most frequently used models are included in the price of the Rhythm Multi-Shelf Platforms. You have your choice of rod heights between the Rhythm Rod 4, Rhythm Rod 8 and Rhythm Rod 11 for the same price. For those extremely large chassis,we offer the Rhythm Rod 17 which is described below. Measure your equipment chassis prior to ordering or base your decision on personal equipment buying habits. Please have your selections available at the time of ordering.

Rhythm Rod 4 - provides up to 4..25 inches (10.79 cm) of physical component chassis height** This measurement includes the height for the shelf-born Audio Points and optional Coupling Discs positioned on the base of each shelf and allows for a 1.5 inch (3.81 cm) of clearance space at the top of the shelf for ventilation and/or cosmetic appeal. Exact height of rod length including threads is 9.25 inches (23.49 cm).

Rhythm Rod 8 - provides up to 8.5 inches (21.59 cm) of physical component chassis height** This measurement includes the height for the shelf-born Audio Points and optional Coupling Discs positioned on the base of each shelf and allows for a 1.5 inch (3.81 cm) of clearance space at the top of the shelf for ventilation and/or cosmetic appeal. Exact height of rod length including threads is 12.00 inches (30.48 cm).

Rhythm Rod 11 - provides up to 11.5 inches (29.21 cm) of physical component chassis height** This measurement includes the height for the shelf-born Audio Points and optional Coupling Discs positioned on the base of each shelf and allows for a 1.5 inch (3.81 cm) of clearance space at the top of the shelf for ventilation and/or cosmetic appeal. Exact height of rod length including threads is 14.75 inches (37.46 cm)

** Component Chassis Height should be measured from bottom to top of chassis only – DO NOT measure the additional heights of the factory installed footer systems as the footer heights will have no bearing on the actual chassis height measurements required to fit the Rhythm Platforms. We recommend the removal of factory footers wherever possible as most are made of rubber, plastics and cork which has an audible and very negative effect on sound quality.

Rhythm Rod 17 - provides up to 13.75 inches (34.92 cm) of physical component chassis height** This measurement includes the height for the shelf-born Audio Points and optional Coupling Discs positioned on the base of each shelf and allows for a 1.5 inch (3.81 cm) of clearance space at the top of the shelf for ventilation and cosmetic appeal. There is an additional financial charge of $90.00 for a set of three Rhythm Rod 17.

The Rhythm Platform Shelf is one of the largest in the industry measuring 26 inches (66 cm) outside width and is 24 inches (61 cm) deep including the Cable Chase Networking System™ located at the end of each shelf allowing you to position all cables in an orderly manner. This shelf is specifically designed to fit the smallest and largest components and loudspeakers Industry has to offer and weighs in at 30 pounds (13.60 kg) per shelf.

Each Platform Shelf arrives with a three Audio Point 1.5AP-1AINT and three Audio Point TB-HND-1A.6 Tensioning Bolts creating a three point bearing system for component placement. The Audio Points can easily be adjusted and moved to fit any sized equipment chassis. For larger or heavier equipment you may order an optional fourth Audio Point combination establishing a four point bearing system.

Overall equipment weight is of no issue as the Rhythm Platform is capable of supporting over one ton (907 kg) of mass.
